Wood Wharf Health Centre
The challenge
Putting healthcare at the heart of the community
With a unique demographic and a large population, Tower Hamlets needed a new, high quality community health centre. The goal was to make health services more accessible locally, helping people live more healthily, and reducing the pressure on nearby hospitals.
NHS Property Services had secured a site within a newly constructed residential development on the Isle of Dogs. They wanted to create a primary and community care facility, capable of serving 13,500 patients, offering appointments with GPs, as well as other clinicians, including physiotherapists and pharmacists.
The role we played
With an exceptional track record in healthcare construction, we put together a Pulse Consult team to provide project management, from start to finish.
We took a collaborative approach, working closely with the client, contractor, tenant, landlord and construction teams on and around the site. By establishing clear communication, continuity, rigorous governance and positive relationships, we built trust and confidence, so challenges could be tackled together, in the best interests of the client and community.
Through a comprehensive schedule of weekly, bi-weekly and monthly reviews and reporting, we also made sure the client had the right information, at the right time, to make informed decisions at every stage of this fast-paced project.
