Pulse were engaged as the RSC's Quantity Surveyors on our recently completed Swan Wing conservation project and the subsequent fit-out of our The Play's the Thing exhibition. Throughout their period of engagement they worked with us in a true partnership, helping to overcome some complex project challenges, thoroughly immersing themselves into our organisation and becoming trusted advisors to the Estates team in the process. Their rigorous financial control and reporting allowed us at all relevant points to keep the project on track. Consequently, and to no-one's surprise, the project was delivered on budget. I would have no hesitation in recommending them for work again with Pulse on future projects.

Frequently asked questions

What is a heritage construction project?

Heritage construction blends traditional craft skills with modern conservation techniques to protect and enhance buildings of historic value. These projects often involve listed buildings, conservation areas, monuments and churches - each with unique characteristics that must be preserved.

Because of this, construction work must be sensitive to the building’s original materials, methods and structural limitations. Professionals in this specialist field repair, restore, alter or retrofit historic structures, ensuring any intervention respects the building’s heritage.

Heritage projects also come with strict regulatory requirements. Our team can help you navigate, interpret and deliver work in line with all necessary compliance standards.

What is construction in art?

Construction within the arts sector brings together architects, artists, creatives, designers and construction specialists to create spaces that support both form and function. This collaborative approach results in buildings that are not only practical but also visually expressive - often becoming iconic cultural landmarks in their own right.
