The challenge

Leading a landmark project for the V&A

An internationally-renowned family of museums dedicated to the power of creativity, the V&A champions design, advances cultural knowledge and inspires makers, creators and innovators. Right now, they’re working on one of the world’s most significant new cultural construction projects – V&A East.

Comprising two new landmark sites – V&A East Museum and V&A East Storehouse – this visionary development will open at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, East London, in 2025, and at Pulse Consult, we’re proud to be playing our part.

The role we're playing

With our extensive experience in arts, heritage and cultural construction projects, Pulse Consult was appointed to the V&A’s professional services framework in 2023. We’ve been working closely with their Projects, Design and Estate Division ever since.

Our construction consultants are helping them drive the prestigious V&A East project forward by providing specialist project management, cost management and employer’s agent services.

The results

Once complete, V&A East Museum will celebrate making, and the power of creativity to bring change. Created with young people and rooted in East London’s heritage, it will include two galleries, a major exhibition space, restaurant, shops, social areas and event spaces, all housed in a new building designed by world-renowned architects O’Donnell + Tuomey.

Meanwhile, V&A East Storehouse will revolutionise how visitors explore the V&A’s vast works. A 16,000m² space designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, it will create a public hub for the collection and a genuinely immersive visitor experience, bringing together state-of-the-art object storage with inspiring galleries, displays and learning spaces.
