With an internationally spread design team, neighbouring live businesses, demanding engineering elements and an intricate, high-spec fit-out, this ambitious commercial construction project called for an experienced, cool-headed project management team.

The client brought in Pulse Consult because of our extensive experience in commercial and hospitality construction. We provided project management, quantity surveying, employer’s agent, principal designer and CDM services, from inception right through to operation.

We managed an internationally spread design team and played a key role in stakeholder and contractor management throughout the delivery of the JCT Design and Build (2016) contract. As the main source of contact for the project, our team provided consistency and problem solving, including overcoming challenges with the landlord and neighbouring tenant.

One of the project’s most complex elements was creating a 150m² opening in an existing reinforced concrete floor – a huge engineering task that had to be carried out without disrupting the hotel above or restaurant below. Space was critical, right down to the millimetre, with a unique, intricate fit-out required to achieve the client’s vision.

Our commercial construction consultants successfully navigated a whole range of challenges to help Mellors Group transform a shell and core build into a stunning 2,500m² immersive entertainment venue, right in the heart of London. 

The finished venue features 21 cubes, two food offerings and five bars, set across four floors. From the moment you walk in, it has a distinctive feeling that exactly replicates the gameshow as a live, in-person experience – and the response from both the client and the public has been very positive.
