Pitlochry Festival Theatre - a new 'VISION'
Project update
Director, Lee Cantrill, revisited Pitlochry Festival Theatre to oversee the recent phase completion.
"It was a pleasure to return to the stunning Scottish Highlands last week, reflecting on another milestone in the Pitlochry Festival Theatre’s “Vision” Capital Project. This transformative journey, designed by Suzie Bridges Architects in partnership with James F Stephen Architects, underscores the Theatre’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability."
The recently completed phase included two significant upgrades:
- The replacement of the iconic glazed façade overlooking the River Tummel and Ben-Y-Vrackie, enhancing energy efficiency.
- A comprehensive upgrade of the Theatre’s flat and pitched roofs, propelling the Theatre closer to its inspiring goal of becoming Scotland’s first net-zero theatre by 2035.
The journey doesn’t stop here. In January 2025, the final phase will begin, focusing on:
- The full restoration of the main auditorium and stage infrastructure.
- Enhanced visitor facilities, including an exciting reimagining of the hospitality and retail spaces.
We are providing cost consultancy, project management, and contract administration services to support Pitlochry Festival Theatre’s vision of becoming Scotland’s largest powerhouse for theatre—creating a legacy that will resonate for generations.
Last week also offered some memorable highlights: a sneak peek of the final rehearsals for The Sound of Music and a surprise cameo on Channel 4’s Scotland’s Poshest Train alongside the brilliant Alan Cumming. Bravo!
