They came to Pulse Consult for support through the Agreement for Lease (AFL) and Turnkey Specification process, and asked us to help make sure all of the deliverables included in the AFL were achievable.

As a construction consultancy team, we’ve over 15 years’ experience of working with the Whitbread Group. So, as well as our hotel construction expertise, we were able to bring an in-depth understanding of their brand, processes and trusted contractors to the table.

Our cost consultants supported Hinton from an early stage with cost planning and the procurement of key trades. This included introducing several tried-and-tested Premier Inn project contractors into the Hinton supply chain to ensure smooth and cost efficient delivery.

The proposed site was surrounded by a road network, presenting a potential challenge for emergency services, so we also helped the Hinton team deliver a dedicated emergency access route, across a watercourse on the site boundary.

The project was a real collaboration between the Hinton and Whitbread teams, and we were proud to play a key part in facilitating that partnership. 

Premier Inn had been looking for a viable new hotel within Abingdon for a number of years and our involvement in the planning, costing and procurement of this project helped to make that possible, delivering the hotel they wanted, on budget in a prime location in the town. Its doors are open, it’s trading successfully and it fits seamlessly into the Whitbread estate.
