Financial Accountant

About the role
A full-time permanent role within our in-house financial team.
The Financial Accountant will report directly into the Finance Director, providing plenty of opportunity to learn and develop we continue to deliver our growth ambitions.
The role is based in our Nottingham office and will support on a broad range of responsibilities including cashflow forecasting, payments, shareholder reporting, year-end financial statements, VAT returns, payroll, and pensions administration.
The salary for this role is £40,000+, dependent on experience. The deadline for applications is 17th September.
About you
Expected experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
- Experience using Xero or similar accounting software
Skills & Personal Attributes:
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, particularly PivotTables and VLOOKUPs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible, results driven and able to maintain a diverse workload
Job responsibilities
- Maintain the cashflow forecasts for the 3-month weekly and 12-month monthly reports
- Manage all payments efficiently to suppliers, staff and HMRC within due dates
- Coordinate the monthly payroll adjustments file and check all adjustments are processed on time and accurately
- Maintain the pension scheme enrolment records for starters and leavers and input monthly contributions processed through the payroll
- Compile the monthly finance report for the shareholders
- Review and submit the quarterly VAT returns for all the relevant group companies
- Prepare the year end accounts files and liaise with the external accountants to produce all relevant financial statements
- Provide support to the Management Accountant responsibilities as needed
- Any other ad hoc tasks or analysis requested by the Finance Director
Qualifications
- Relevant Degree or equivalent (Required)
- Professional accounting qualification (Required)
