Ian Carey

Ian is one of the founding directors of Pulse Consult, and worked for two major global construction consultancies before setting up the business.

With over 20 years’ cross-sector experience, including commercial, residential and education, he works tirelessly to understand our clients, deliver bespoke services and add real value to their projects. His key strength lies in getting the best out of the team and responding to problems with positive, practical solutions. 

As Managing Director, Ian has led Pulse Consult from a micro business to a thriving SME with a turnover in excess of £8m and a team of over 80, based at five hubs across the UK. Today, Pulse are an Investors in People Gold award business and featured on the Sunday Times Best Places to Work list. Our business goal is to grow the team to a 150 strong and increase turnover to £20m.

Away from work, Ian is a trustee at The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, an organisation that provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to people in the construction community and their families. He also regularly volunteers at his local food bank and his daughter’s rowing club.
